April 2020 Update

At the end of April, 2020, Tom was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia after a routine blood test. That blood test likely saved his life. He’s been receiving treatment in the Leukemia/Bone Marrow Transplant ward at VGH for almost a month, and he’s hoping to continue his treatment from home soon.

This is a reminder that everybody who is in good health and between the ages of 17 and 35 (in Canada) or 18 and 44 (in the States) should join the stem cell registry. You can apply online and they’ll send you a cheek swab kit in the mail. You could save someone’s life. (Maybe Tom’s)
